Hat #16 - 1980's logo Broncos...the Slump Buster!

I call this hat the streak breaker or the slump buster. I was wearing it when the Broncos lost their first game of this season against the Ravens and I was wearing it when the Broncos ended a month-long skid against the Giants. It's very orange, which in my world is very cool. Plus, I grew up cheering for the Broncos wearing this logo, so it's a nice way to remember where I have come from!

Hat #15 - Quebec Nordiques Hat

So, being an Avalanche fan is great, but there is a tiny bit of residual guilt that we stole another town's team. The Nords were pretty well loved in Quebec, and as soon as they came to Denver they immediately won the Cup. Good for Coloradans, bad for the Quebecois. So, to assuage some of the guilt, it's pretty cool to sport the retro Nordiques look. Plus, this is just a pretty cool looking hat, and it's quite comfy, so it's recieved a decent amount of love over the past few weeks since I got it. The Flour-de-lis on the back is also pretty sweet. Go Avs/Nords!

Hat #14 - Brown Broncos Retro AFL Hat

I've been on a big Brown and Yellow kick since the Broncos decided to do the retro thing this season. Of the three Brown Broncos caps I've purchased, this one is easily my favorite! I got it at the Broncos Team Store at Invesco Field. It's apparently a Team Store exclusive, which is pretty cool, and it's the only retro Broncos cap I've seen where the logo is placed on a brown background which looks way better than the white or yellow which is the only other options I've ever seen. This one cost $30, which is way more than I usually want to pay for a hat, but it was so fantastic that I had to get it. Plus, it fits my head perfectly and it's exceptionally comfy, so basically this hat rules. It's definitely received a decent amount of play in the rotation.

Hat #13 - Kangol Hat

This is the hat that I wear when I'm trying to convince people that I'm cooler than I actually am. I really dig this hat, and it is pretty cool. I'm not sure I'm fully able to pull it off, but I still try from time to time. The only down size to this hat is that it's a flex fit, and it is a bit tight as many flex fit hats tend to be on me.

Hat #12 - Reebok Flex Fit Broncos Hat

This is a very sharp Denver Broncos Reebok hat. It's a flex fit, but it's exceptionally comfortable and it's one of my best looking Broncos hats. I tend to wear this one in bursts, and it hasn't been heavy in the rotation lately, but I like it.

Hat #11 - K-State Wildcats

I spent six years in Kansas, four and a half in Manhattan going to school at both Manhattan Christian College and a little bit to K-State. I guess I'm a Wildcat, and although I don't follow them closely, I still enjoy the logo, and the color purple is so obnoxious that it can be wonderful. I don't wear this hat much, but I like it.

Hat #10 - Orange Broncos Reebok Sideline Hat

This hat is somewhat soulless, it was released by Reebok as the 2nd Season Sideline cap for the NFL in the 2008 season, but I like it because #1 It's Orange and #2 My son Luke and I both have this hat, so we can be ultra cool and wear it at the same time. It's a decent hat, a bit tight as it's the stretchfit which doesn't quite stretch enough to fit, but I do like the hat. Pretty good times.

Hat #9 - My favorite Avalanche Hat

Being an Avalanche fan has been tough over the past year. We were spoiled for a decade with a team that won two cups and contended almost every single year. Last season was abysmal, as they were the worst team in the Western Conference. Even so, I would still rock the Avs hat every now and then.

The Avalanche are an interesting case, because despite the fact that they have a seriously cool logo, it is almost impossible to find a good Avalanche hat. When I ran across this navy blue number at my local Lids a year ago, I took all of .2 seconds to decide that I would buy it because it was AWESOME! I haven't had a lot of reasons to wear it over the past months, but it is a super comfy hat, and it actually looks pretty cool, which is rare for an Avs hat. This is by default my favorite Avs hat, as I don't have too many that I'm in love with for them. I like the faux distressed look, I like how it fits my head perfectly, and I like how it's Navy Blue. All in all, a very solid hat!

Hat #8 - My very favorite Nuggets hat

This is easily my most favorite Nuggets hat. I am wearing it in the photo that I use for my avatar in a lot of places on the web...including my blogs. It is super comfortable, and I bought it the night that George Karl was announced as the new coach of the Nugs. This hat has been to Mexico and countless swimming pools, it has been to tons of Nuggets games both regular and postseason, and it just keeps truckin'. This hat will be hard to replace in the Nuggets genre, as most of what is produced for my favorite NBA team is crap. This hat has seen a ton of action, and it shows it's wear, but I still break it out every NBA season. It's probably in my top five favorite hats of all time.

Hat #7 - The Orange Version of my Favorite Hat Ever

This hat is pretty much identical to my favorite hat of all time, except that it is BRIGHT orange. I don't wear it a ton, but it is very comfortable, and very orange, which is a plus in my world, because I love the color orange. It's a very solid hat, and I do love it quite a bit.

Hat #6 - Retro Broncos (Brown and Yellow)

I dig this hat for the simple reason that it is based off the same time period as the inspiration for my blog... www.verticallystripedsocks.com

Plus, it's just a pretty cool hat, I dig the ugly Brown and Yellow, the cool AFL logo on the back, and the first Broncos logo was pretty cool. This hat has it's drawbacks in that it is white, and that it is a stretchfit hat that is a little tiny bit tight, but I've been wearing this hat whenever I wear brown lately, which is maybe once every week or two. I dig this hat, and will definitely be wearing it when the Broncos play the Patriots and I go to the game. (They're wearing their retro unis that day, you see!)

Hat #5 - My favorite Rockies hat

This hat has been heavy in the rotation lately, It's my favorite Rockies hat. I love the full logo on the back of the hat, the big purple EST 93 on the side, and the slightly frayed look of the front logo. Plus, it's one of the most comfortable hats in my collection. It generally gets it's most use in the summer during baseball season, which makes sense. Solid hat, and definitely the best in the baseball genre for me.

Hat #4 - My Other Retro Broncos Hat

I swear, I have other hats besides Broncos hats, and I'll even post one of them sometime soon, but I thought I'd post the hat I have featuring the goofy Broncos logo from the early 60's. This hat always garners compliments when I wear it, but it's not as comfortable or awesome as the orange one, so it is less often put into the rotation. I like how it looks, but it can leave a bit of a mark on the head, as it is the stretch fit variety which I have a love hate relationship with. I do still pull it out for special events when nothing but a royal blue AFL hat will do, though. Not that those events come up all that often, but still...

Hat #3 - The Floppy Llamas

What are the Floppy Llamas? Why, my Fantasy Football team, of course. You might wonder what kind of a dork develops a logo for his fantasy football team, and then has merchandise made up to display this logo. Now you now. A dork like me! Yup, the Floppy Llamas have been doing battle in the Denver World League of Fantasy Football for the past three years. This past season we made it all the way to the championship game of the league but fell just short of a championship. 2009 is the year of the Llama, though. I can feel a championship coming!
I like this hat due to the sentimental connection to my fantasy football team. Truth be told it is a little bit tight on my head, and I generally don't wear it a whole lot, but I do like it because it testifies to the mighty power of the Floppy Llamas. I had this hat made up on the Lids create your own hat website, and I really dig it.

Hat #2 - My Second Favorite Hat Ever!

Okay, so this is my second favorite hat of all time. I'm a huge fan of the 1960's Broncos logo also the color orange and fitted hats. This hat combines all of those loves, plus it's awfully comfortable. I bought this hat in the summer of 2008 and it was a little bit too small and it's a stretch fit hat, so that can spell trouble, but it stretched out perfectly and now fits my head like a glove without leaving lines on my head, a problem that is all too common for stretch fit hats.

Another reason I dig this hat is because unless you are somewhat knowledgeable about football, there is an excellent chance that you have no idea that this is a Denver Broncos hat. If you do know football, you realize that this is a Broncos hat, which makes it a double win. Because if you don't like football, you may think that this is just a weird hat with a goofy looking horse on it, and if you DO like football, you can this that this hat is just flat out AWESOME, which it is, of course.

I like just about everything about this hat from it's fit, to it's color, to the logo, to the little '60 that is on the corner of the hat to signify the Broncos franchise origin in 1960. This is a beautiful hat, and it makes me happy to put it on my head. I wear it a ton, which is something I can't say about all my hats, as you will see if you keep following this blog. This hat is currently in heavy rotation, as I wear it three or four days a week.

Hat #1 - My Favorite Hat Ever!

Welcome to Hatish. If it seems like that name is a cross between the words Hat and Fetish, well congratulations! You get the general idea, pretty darn well. I'm a hat guy, to a ridiculous degree. I pretty much have a problem. Do you remember how Imelda Marcos was discovered to have had like ten million pairs of shoes when they raided her compound? Yeah, I'm the Imelda Marcos of hats. Plus I like blogging, so I thought I'd combine my passions into one gigantic nerdy soup. You've discovered my nerdery, I welcome you to it.

This hat has pretty much taken over the number one spot in my heart for hats. It's my favorite hat ever. I wore it when both of my kiddos were born. I wore it to the 2005 AFC Championship game. (Okay, not a great time, but I was wearing the hat at the time. I wore it when the Broncos beat the Patriots in the playoffs at Invesco. (A better time!) I've worn it so much that I've had to wash it several times. It has kept it's shape, and it's simple, and it's beautiful, and it's comfortable, and it's definitely my favorite hat ever. I love this hat. I've worn it so much, that I try not to wear it that much anymore, because I don't want to wear it out. It's fantastic.
